Whoopi! Barbara, Whoopi!
Bravo Barbara Walters on your selection for the new moderator of The View, Whoopi Goldberg. She fits all the criteria I had for a great moderator, funny, smart, ethnic, older and interesting.
Whoopi will provide a distinct perspective to The View, without being mean spirited, I think. She’ll provide the African American perspective, a liberal perspective and a wise perspective having been in the industry, and on the planet, for a good number of years.
Not to mention, she’s entertaining and funny as hell.
While there has been lots of speculation about a fifth member of The View, I have my money on Barbara sticking with the Guest Co-Host format. It seems to be an effective way to mix still another perspective into Hot Topics.
