Virtual Bird
Hi, this is Sandy from Dish Network.
I already have Dish Network.
Yes, well. We were wondering if you’d like to give us any names and phone numbers for your friends and family?
Uh. No. I’d like to keep my friends and I don’t hate my family.
I got a new phone number and had forgotten how awful it is to be bombarded by telemarketers.
Thank goodness for the National Do Not Call Registry.
It takes 2 minutes to register. Once you do it becomes illegal for telemarketers to harass you (after 31 days).
I registered my Grandmother too since she was being bombarded with calls from insurance salesmen and scam artists and wasn’t “rude” enough to hang up on them before giving them private information.
If you’re not on this list - well, get on it. It’s worth 2 minutes of your life and 3 clicks of your mouse to be free of the rat bastards forever.

While you’re at it, sign up with 41Pounds.org also. I recently blogged about them: http://blog.feefifoto.com/2007/12/i-thought-i-was.html; they get in touch with your junk mailers and within three months your junk mail can be reduced by more than three quarters (mine was — what a relief).

that’s handy. Now wouldn’t it be swell if they came up with something that would make spam and violent and inappropriate commercials illegal too?
