The Perfect Dress For The Class Reunion.

I’m sorry, but it can’t just be me. The high-school (and college) class reunion is THE oddest event in our society. Other than, perhaps, ANY type of shower.

Several years ago, I dragged my spouse to my 20th reunion, and I swear, I thought he was going to cry from the sheer pain of boredom. But now it was my turn.

For my husband’s 30th reunion, I happened to find the perfect little black designer dress that I picked up in a local vintage shop. (I must say it fit better than any dress I’ve ever purchased in a department store, weird.)

I was a bit chagrined that the first time my husband was going to see me in this dress was at our town’s poor excuse for a golf club, attending his reunion.

I wanted my new dress to see the inside of a new fab New York restaurant or performance before wearing it in front of folks (and they are all lovely) who knew him when he was seven.

But the clothing isn’t the perfect dress for this event, I believe the perfect outfit for such an evening, is your smile and grace.

Even though, no matter how many years you’ve known his class clique, you will still be a class member’s spouse (read: invisible).

To the credit of hubby’s class mates, they did, in fact put on a very nice event…so congrats to all.
