The Number 23 Can Ruin Your Day
I was thinking about Jim Carey’s new psychological thriller The Number 23
and just how silly spooky the idea is of a guy who becomes obsessed with a numeral.
I understand the movie is truly frightening…and let me tell you just how easily the number 23 showed up in my life today:
- 23 phone calls made to find a reputable woman’s health practitioner.
- 1:23pm was the time on the clock when I left for the appointment
- 23-freaking miles per hour — was the speed the old guy in the car in front of me was driving, as I traveled to the appointment
- 23 are the last two digits of my health insurance card
- 3/12 is the date of my next appointment, at 2:30pm!
Oh, and when I was filling out the medical forms, it turns out that my birth date and month — and my husband’s — add up to 23!
Is that bazaar or what?

Did you see Jim Carrey on Letterman last night? I loved his impression of David Caruso. And, honestly, I wasn’t really interested in seeing the Number 23, but your post has convinced me…I gotta go.
