I HATE my . . .
Did you hear the echo of women everywhere responding with the speed of light?
Fat legs, flabby stomach, beaky nose, round eyes, thin lips, bulgy cheeks, flat breasts and on and on.
Last night I was indulging in trashy television, which I allow myself to do when my daughter isn’t […]

My 2-year-old has taken to expressing indignation at all commercials.
He hands us the remote and demands that we fast forward.
Even my 6-year-old daughter, Ainsley, is confused about how this happened.
It’s LIVE TV Zack. You have to watch the commercials. Geez, she’ll tell him.
I mean, hasn’t everyone on the planet lived with commercials since television […]

Remember when Mrs. Banks sang,
We’re clearly soldiers in petticoats
And dauntless crusaders for woman’s votes
Though we adore men individually
We agree that as a group they’re rather stupid!
Cast off the shackles of yesterday!
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray!
Our daughters’ daughters will adore us
And they’ll sign in grateful chorus
“Well done, Sister Suffragette!”
From Kensington to Billingsgate
One hears the restless […]

I’m going to spend the next hour or two clicking around and getting to know my new neighbors.
This from Gayla McCord, master of the new Lifestyle’s Channel at b5media:
This month, along with the magic that begins to fill the air from the approaching holiday season, I’ve been given the honor of composing the official welcome […]

You would not believe the stuff I’ve picked up over the last few weeks at garage sales and thrift stores. Whenever I browse now I repeat this prayer, Thank You God for the Joneses. If other people weren’t so concerned with keeping up with the Joneses, I wouldn’t be living so well off our single-income.
[…]

Since I’ve been scrolling through all my junk mail I’m feeling inadequate and insecure about my penis.
I think Spam is starting to effect my mental health and self esteem.
I’m seriously starting to feel my penis is too small, not hard enough, doesn’t stay hard long enough and that women frequently laugh at me behind my […]

I’m bringing back the hat.
Well, you wear whatever you want. I’m wearing a hat.
I think hats are fabulous as a fashion statement.
I have a practical reason too - keeps the sun off the face. Maybe you all remember my post Can a Leapord Change Her Spots where I told you about my melasma? Well, I got […]

If you’re sane you’re in a near-panic over the flipping Christmas ornaments dotting the shelves of your local haunts.
Halloween has a few more days to arrive, but the Christmas push to buy more stuff is already making the national blood pressure rise.
Maybe my Boycott Christmas in June idea didn’t seem reasonable. But, now that it’s November, I’m […]

Did you all see the Oprah with the polygamist families? Some of you might already know that I grew up Mormon.
Polygamists are not Mormons.
Mormons used to allow polygamy, but they stopped it in the 1800s when Utah became a state. (Actually, the U.S. was pissed off that they let all those wives vote and women didn’t actually […]

Okay, I’m totally kidding. I’m still trying to convince him that I am Mama, as opposed to Ainsley.
Generally, people who still poop in their pants aren’t avid readers. But, that does not stop me from handing him a board book to keep him on the potty for a few more minutes of trying. Learning to […]

If your daddy worked for a chicken company you might be a chicken for Halloween too.

My brother didn’t know what he looked like as a baby, you can read why in Baby Pics & Self. He was expecting his first child and I knew he would be sad not knowing whether she was like him.
I contacted relatives for any photos my mother had sent to relatives. I went through boxes and […]

Check out these green living tips over at Glam Spirit. It’s a Blog Carnival I submitted my Green Clean essay to.
I’m really not that environmental, but surely cleaning up our act can’t do any harm? When some people I know criticized Happy Feet for being too eco-nutty I thought, Well, it’s hard to make an argument […]

The first BlogFabulous Blogtoberfest Prize is a really cool large Lara Gallagher bag. Lara is best-known as the Lazy Organizer and has really great mottoes like organized people are just too lazy to look for things.
When I was younger I just didn’t understand what I thought was anal retentive compulsive organization in others. Organization is not […]

My mother said I hate my purse is something she hears me say quite frequently.
They’re always a pain in the a&#. I read this entire article in O Magazine about the chronic neck and back pain caused by carrying a heavy purse. Great concept, but are you kidding me? They had 3 bags in my price range, […]
