Scalding Hot Water Fun
What’s so refreshing on a 100 degree, humid East Texas day?
A scalding hot bath.
I love my wonderful house. But, it has two weird quirks.
1. They hooked the outside faucet to the hot water pipe instead of the cold water pipe. So all our summer water fun is preceded by running all the hot water out of the water heater or putting ice in the baby pool.
To fix it, I’ll have to cut through a wall in the pantry. Still working up the nerve.
2. No electrical outlet in the master bathroom. Someone suggested they probably forgot to cut the hole in the drywall or tile. That’s probably true but, how will I ever find out where? I have to blow dry my hair in my bedroom.

Hey, my dad is an electrician and he has a little tool that you hold agains a surface (like your wall) and it beeps when it senses electricity. Maybe you could get one of those to find your outlet?
The hose thing sucks! Ugh.

Ah, I’ll probably just blow dry my hair in the bedroom.
But, I do hate the scalding water.
It’s dangerous because it’s burns my kids, it’s killing my grass, and costing money to heat the water. That’s what I really want to fix.

The hot water issue sounds fairly major. Shouldn’t the builder pay to fix something like that? Or did I forget that you posted earlier the reason why they won’t?

Well, the house was build in 1950 so it’s not like it’s still under warranty.

Could you hook up some kind of long hose from your kitchen sink? Just an idea?

LOL - I’ve even considered buying a 1,000 ft hose to run from the front yard.

I think it might be worth. I’ll bet it jacks up your water and gas bill to fill up the danged baby pool.

Yikes! I live in Australia and we are in a massive drought. We have water restrictions where you’re not even allowed to water the garden or fill up kids swimming pools, anything like that. You’re on the same planet as me, please don’t take your water for granted like that! PLEASE! Have it fixed and consider water a precious and limited resource. (Or get that giant hose from the front yard!)

Hmmm. We live on the same planet. But, do you really think if I conserve water in my East Texas supply that it will make it rain in Australia?
Calling around to see what can be done is on my list of things to do today though. I’m wanting it fixed pretty badly.
