Palmolive Bubble Bath

by Tracee Sioux on January 23rd, 2008

palmolive.jpgSurely I am not the only women who is disappointed that bubble bath products usually do not make a bath very bubbly?

So, I was thinking. . .

Dish soap gives good bubble.

Remember that commercial from back in the day about the Palmolive being “good for your hands?” Making them softer and all that? They even make it for sensitive skin and dry hands with aloe.

So I tried it. Hopefully the Ph balance of my Vajayjay will survive, it seemed to have no adverse effects.

There are lots of scents in dish soap now too: spring, apples, citrus, and melon. There is likely a vanilla.

You can buy a generic bottle of dishwashing liquid for $1.

I would forgo bubbles if I were you. We are currently phasing out (as many as possible) petroleum products in our house. Soaps, shampoo, cosmetics, lotions, toothpastes, etc…

I’m not trying to sound all Holier than thou, but they really are bad for you and the earth. I keep telling myself “clean is not a smell.”

If we’re getting all enviromentalist about it wouldn’t I have to forgo the entire bath due to gallons and gallons of water being “wasted” for pure pleasure?

I’m not doing it to get clean. I’m doing it to relax and have a moment to myself. The bubbles have a psychological effect of luxery and indulgence. I do it like once or twice a week, it’s not that bad for the environment is it?

How are you washing and conditioning your hair? wearing sunscreen? washing your dishes?

Are you hand making all that stuff with organic products?

I’m pretty sure I’m not ready to go that far in my ecological efforts.

We used to do this when I was a little girl. :) It does work pretty well! Plus the bubbles seem to last longer.

i, too, care about the environment, but sometimes it’s just hard. i know palmolive is cheap, but if you are concerned about the environment, perhaps go with something non-petroleum based? maybe that’s a good compromise? i dunno. haha anyway, your vajajay fared ok? that’s my main concern, honestly, so i tend to use things designed for bubble baths. this one give pretty good bubble — i found it at the web site i typed in order to post my comment. it’s called cocktail hour.
