Obama Not Muslim
I didn’t think most people would believe the rumor circulating about Presidential Candidate Barack Obama being a Muslim.
However, in my Southern town I’ve had quite the time talking to the brick walls who keep insisting that they just KNOW he’s a Muslim.
So, in case you’ve been wondering: Barack Obama is a Christian. (We may have freedom of religion but I know some voters who feel that shouldn’t extend to the President - so yeah, it matters.)
Straight from an interview with Christianity Today:
Barack Obama wants to set the record straight. He is not a Muslim, as recent e-mails falsely claim.
The Democratic presidential candidate is fighting the e-mails that have been widely circulated. Obama has been continually speaking about the role of faith in politics since his Call to Renewal address in June 2006.
In the days before the South Carolina primary, he is driving efforts to speaking with media to emphasize his Christian beliefs. His campaign also sent out a recent maile portraying the candidate with his head bowed in prayer and says that he will be guided by prayer when he is in office.
The senator from Illinois spoke with Sarah Pulliam and Ted Olsen today about his faith, abortion, and the evangelical vote.
What do you think your biggest obstacle will be in reaching evangelicals?
You know, I think that there’s been a set of habits of thinking about the interaction between evangelicals and Democrats that we have to change. Democrats haven’t shown up. Evangelicals have come to believe often times that Democrats are anti-faith. Part of my job in this campaign, something that I started doing well before this campaign, was to make sure I was showing up and reaching out and sharing my faith experience with people who share that faith. Hopefully we can build some bridges that can allow us to move the country forward.
Let’s not base such serious decisions on gossip.

People hear something once, and it gets repeated as fact. It’s unbelievable.

So what if he is a Muslin, all Muslin’s are not radicals..He is the best candidate by far, and for you Clinton supporters you might want to read The Final Days before Election Day. Your eyes will be opened about the Clinton’s With terrorism spreading in the world, do we really want this woman at the helm? THINK ABOUT IT

1. Obama is not Muslim.
2. I agree, so what if he was? However, many many people I know would believe America was meant to be Christian and would never vote for a muslim. So it is relevant.
3. I am THINKING ABOUT IT and I love Hillary. I will vote for her because my daughter needs to see a woman running the country. And frankly, I need to see it. It’s been 43 men to zero women and I’m ready for a woman. Yes, this woman.
4. I think it’s a huge mistake for Obama supporters to Demonize Hillary. For the same reason it’s wrong to spread gossip about Obama’s religious history (and bring up terrorism which, I think, is the point of this post.) I support Hillary without bashing the other completely qualified wonderful candidate Obama. I think both would make wonderful presidents. If Obama wins the democratic nomination I will happily support him. We’re supposed to be democrats and their platforms actually differ very little. If you demonize Hillary now and she wins the nomination what are you going to do - support McCain? Come on.
