Lucky, Lucky, Lucky Me

by Tracee Sioux on January 24th, 2008

lucky-brand-jeans.jpgI was bending over frantically sorting Zack’s toys and throwing them in boxes when Ainsley, my 6 year old daughter, shouted, Mom your butt crack is totally showing!

I see Mommy’s butt crack! I see Mommy’s butt crack! I see Mommy’s butt crack!

She sang as she ran around me laughing and pulling down her britches to show her own butt crack. Zack, her 20-month-old brother, yanked his own pants down to show of his own crack and danced behind her, echoing,

Mama Ba ack! Mama Buh Cack! Mama Cack!

That’s it, I’m buying a decent pair of jeans! I laughed. Apparently, I’ve become ridiculous in my refusal to pay real money for jeans that look good on me.

I lost some weight and that deserves a reward, I’m so frugal my last three pair of jeans cost $1.50 each and I am sick, sick, sick to death of walking around in jeans that make me look and feel like a plumber. I should feel entitled to bending over without showing the world my crack.

Remember I wrote about that website Zafu.com where they ask you a bunch of questions about how jeans fit you, how you wish jeans would fit you, how tall you are and how much you weigh?

Zafu scans their database of all the jeans in the world and tell you, scientifically or magically, which brand and style of jeans will fit your specific body the best.

I tested it and it works. My report came back that Lucky Brand Dungarees Easy Rider in short size 29 or 30 would fit me best of all jeans in the whole world.

This week on my trip to Atlanta, I scouted out the recommended jeans and wow! I love them.

Thank goodness they were having their twice annual 50% off sale or I never would have dared buy a pair.  Even at 50% off, I promise I have never spent this much money on a pair of jeans.

Of course, my exact perfect pair were not on sale, so I bought the runner-up, Lucky’s Classic Riders, and I’ll need to hem them. Evidently, I can only only overcome frugality about half-way.

From now on I’ll be able to scavenge for them on Ebay, Ross, TJ Max, thrifts stores and garage sales.

Zafu.com - go try it and see which jeans are best for you. They also have a bra tool - so you can find the perfect bra.

Next to getting a mammogram, there is hardly anything more painful in my life than shopping for jeans. Thanks for a very cool tool!

you are most welcome ready maid. And I agree.

Nothing makes you feel worse about yourself than trying on clothes made specifically for 17 year old supermodels or boys.

Man, my son would love your daughter. Like many six year old boys he is utterly obsessed with butts. Also, I hate shopping too. I’m like you. I always feel scammed if I pay more than $2 for a shirt. I love thrift stores but also have jean issues. I’m not easy to fit - maybe I’ll look at that site you mention.

Yes, you deserve to treat yourself to a great pair of jeans that look fabulous on you! I love zafu.com… enjoy your new jeans and the fact that you won’t be showing any part of your butt outside of your jeans. LOL!

Try it folks. I may never buy the wrong fit jeans again.

You can also sort by price - not only fit. That way you can stay within your budget, until you find the right pair at thrift stores or ebay.

Carry the list around in your purse for reference. I stuck a list in my mother’s pocketbook and my granmother’s.

Grandma, do you want your butt to look Booty-licious? Would you like to have a muffin top or butt cleavage?

    That was a hilarious conversation!

Timely post. This weekend, I was walking around yanking up my $4 thrift-store jeans and thinking I really ought to get some that fit me.

I remember trying out Zafu the last time you linked to it. This time, though it gave me different results and my ideal jean is from Old Navy, so now I have no excuse!

run susanna run! I saw Old Navy had a 2 for $40 sale on their jeans right now! That means you can probably afford to buy two pair - a light and a dark!
