God Bless The Joneses
You would not believe the stuff I’ve picked up over the last few weeks at garage sales and thrift stores. Whenever I browse now I repeat this prayer, Thank You God for the Joneses. If other people weren’t so concerned with keeping up with the Joneses, I wouldn’t be living so well off our single-income.

Love the thrift stores. Some of my good scores are iron pot rack ($10, retail $100), pottery barn duvet cover ($15, retail $149), Le Creuset cast iron casserole dish ($5, retail $200), set of O’Reilly software development books ($50, retail $500) and countless clothes, dishes, and books.
It is weird how the universe works sometimes. A friend recently told me I needed to get a book that was out of print, and I saw it later that day at the thrift store. Happened so many times.
I can’t get up early enough to go to the garage sales though. Craig’s list has good stuff sometimes.

I love love LOVE thrift stores and gently used stores.
My kids are learning early that if you buy the used stuff at a lesser cost, you get more stuff :)
This year they’ve done their homework and found used games and electronics they want online and made their lists telling me where to find them.

Smart kids. I could never afford all the stuff I want if I bought it from retail stores.
