Desperate Housewife Jersey Style
Ok…those who read Blog Fabulous and to those who are new…this is totally not my style of writing…BUT I have to tell this story.
I’ve been going to the same dry cleaner folks in my home town for 20 years. Billy, and his wife…whose name, I never remember.
I go in today…and lazily, I plop my stuff on the counter, in the same way I do every week.
Usually, Billy knows I’m there to bring in about 5 of my husband’s shirts — pick up the next day…I’m out the door. Yawwwwn, right?
Suddenly, a voice I don’t recognize starts asking me questions…”do you want light starch? is this sweater cashmere? When do you want these…” Aaaah with the questions.
I look up, and it’s not Billy…it’s his 22 year old son David…Boing!
The cutest thing I’ve seen in our town in years. His dad (Billy) is on vacation, with his mom (name?).
So, uncharacteristically, these really stupid things start coming out of my mouth:
“um…could you be careful with that sweater…I was making Beef Burgundy and I got wine on it”
And…”those shirts…however you think the best way to clean them is fine…and, “do you do tailor jeans…?”
God…if I knew how to write a script for Desperate Housewives this would be the one.
Steam At The Dry Cleaner episode…right? Can you see it?
I think I really needed a break from the small home business role today, don’t you? :).
